Cell phones in a test or exam

Cell phones and other mobile devices are considered unauthorized aids during a test or exam, even if they are not used. Penalties for using a phone or internet device as an aid during an exam can be serious. Devices should be stored with other valuables during an exam, or left outside the exam room or in a personal locker.  Remember to do a final check before sitting down for a test, to ensure your phone isn’t accessible. Students writing exams who unexpectedly find they have a device in their possession should not handle it, and should alert the invigilator as soon as possible.
